A recent article by news.com.au has stated that the new iPhone 11 Pro models are reportedly sending location data to Apple – even when they are turned off.
A worrying location tracking feature on Apple’s latest flagship iPhone has users concerned about their privacy, but the company says it doesn’t see any problem.
“Location services allows Apple and third-party apps and websites to gather and use information based on the current location of your iPhone. If Location Services is on, your iPhone will periodically send the geo-tagged locations of nearby Wi-Fi hot spots and cell towers (where supported by a device) in an anonymous and encrypted form to Apple to be used for augmenting this crowdsourced database of Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower locations,” the Location Services privacy policy reads.
Apple has stated that they seek to brand iPhone as a secure smartphone – so they dont see an issue with tracking everyones phone.
